If I lent you my eyes

These days I feel
Such sadness
I understand
How the suffragettes
The pro abolitionists
Those fighting
In the past
Against a social injustice
It can feel
Like banging your head
Against a wall
Hoping to knock
A few pebbles
The wall stubbornly remains
It does not realize
How illogical it is being
And isn’t sad
How you can risk
Because you are fighting
An injustice
No one else sees
And I am extreme
Because I want to talk
About it?
I know, I know
I am obsessed
But wouldn’t you be too?
If you were in my shoes
If I lent you my eyes
To dispel the lies
So I wouldn’t be alone
In fighting a nightmare.
